Why subscribe?

The initial plan here was to share notes, lists, works in progress, poems, more lists, links, photos, ruminations, with dollops of self-promotion.

But then my career blew up in my face.

That happened when my college, where I taught for many years, announced it was closing.

So now the plan is to chronicle that change in life and career.

I’ll still write about nerdy stuff and poems and Queen. But I’d be dishonest with you if I wasn’t going to write about the end of a teaching career and all that comes with it.

I’m new at this. I have this set up as approval-only because I want people to read this for the right reasons. I want to have a relationship with my readers and feel comfortable writing about what I want to write.

This being Substack, there is a paid tier. If you want to do that, that would be great. If you do pay to subscribe, you can read old posts.
